The Faculty of Education prides itself on being a multi-racial and culturally diverse environment for learning. Our programmes are strengthened by our partnership with the Department of Basic Education, as well as other departments and faculties within the University of Pretoria.
Professionals with degrees in education work as teachers or in school administration, curriculum design, or education policy.

The education offered by this Faculty is directed at several areas within Education, for example learning and teaching among children, adolescents and adults, leadership and pedagogy. The Faculty provides education directed at teacher training as well as for qualified teachers. Among our students there are also future food economists, sports coaches, educational leaders and health promotion workers.
Research at the Faculty addresses many critical issues within pressing societal areas. Such areas are for example the content of teaching and learning in schools, the implications of digital technology for learning processes, and the predictability of future academic success from assessment and grading. Our researchers also target specific issues within sustainable development, health, the organization of schools and educational planning.
We are dedicated to learning experiences that encourage critical inquiry, equity, social justice and participatory citizenship. We support teaching, research, scholarship, creative activity and service that strengthen education and enrich community life.
